Early Spring Tasks

Take a little time to prepare the vegetable garden soil for planting. The addition of well-rotted manure, processed manure, peat moss or compost are good additives for building compost humus in the soil.
Peas and sweet peas(garden seed) may be planted right now directly into the soil, as well as perennial vegetables like Asparagus, Rhubarb, Horseradish and artichokes.
Eggplant, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, leeks, onions, early potatoes, and radish garden seed may be planted in the garden about mid March.
Spinach, chard, cabbage, and other hardy garden seeds can be planted or set out late in the month.
Plant blueberries, currants, loganberries, boysenberries, grapes, and fruit trees in March.
Add some manure around your Rhubarb.
